ABOUT US
Mikaela Ostrander
Mikaela Ostrander was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, where she began dancing at the age of eight. Dance has been an important part of her life ever since, shaping her love for creativity, movement, confidence, and community. In 2014, Mikaela founded Inspirations, a non profit organization combining her lifelong passion for dance with her desire to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with unique needs and abilities.
Mikaela holds a master’s degree in Special Education and a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She is a certificated teacher and has experience working as a speech-language assistant, bringing both educational and clinical perspectives to her work with children and families.
Over the years, Mikaela’s work with children and families has expanded beyond dance. She has seen firsthand the need for accessible literacy, dyslexia intervention, and academic support, particularly for children whose learning needs may not always be fully understood or supported. This growing need helped inspire the evolution of Inspirations into Inspirations Dance & Academics.
